Mason has now won nine of the last 10 meetings of this GMC rivalry after grinding out a win Friday night. The two clubs combined for only 262 yards of offense, but Mason was able to capitalize on a pair of Hamilton turnovers. Quinten Kaylor ran for 42 yards and two touchdowns for the Comets, while Shelvon Hibbet (68 yards) and Nick Sailers (30 yards) also found the endzone. Hamilton’s lone score came on Jaylan Garrett’s three-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter. Sailers forced a fumble for the Mason defense, which was recovered by Carson McCoon. Weston Simmons provided the other takeaway with an interception and 48-yard return. Mason has now allowed just seven offensive points in back-to-back games to start the season.

  • Fairfield 42, Middletown 14 - FINAL

Fairfield's offense wasted no time delivering the fireworks Friday night, scoring on its first two offensive plays - a 69-yard touchdown pass from Talon Fisher to Jordan Jackson and a 65-yard touchdown run from Fisher. Fisher now has 330 rushing yards in just two games after going for 156 on just eight carries against the Middies. Jackson, Juseters Fataki and Kavi Bivins also found the endzone for the Indians. Fairfield got a boost from its special teams for the second consecutive week when Jordan Baker opened the second-quarter scoring with a 99-yard punt return touchdown. Middletown quarterback Kellen Davis threw for 131 yards on just four completions, finding Max Johnson and Chandler Shields for touchdowns. Lemond Chambers led the Middies' backfield with 101 yards on 17 attempts. Fairfield is 2-0 for the second time since 2016 and will visit Colerain next week while Middletown will host Hamilton.

Quarterback Jaxon Schreiber threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 50 yards and a score to steer Oak Hills past Sycamore for the program's first 2-0 start since 2018. Schreiber connected with five different receivers. He hit Max Supe and Kyle Toon for touchdowns while Jacob Day registered a game-high six catches for 92 yards. Sycamore was led by Eugene Harney, who ran for 33 yards and both Aviator touchdowns.

A pair of first-quarter touchdown runs by Jaylen Grant started an onslaught at Lancer Stadium Friday night as La Salle rolled past Royal Imperial Collegiate. Grant finished with 109 yards on just six attempts and Tyrone Brown found the endzone twice, finishing with 93 yards on just eight carries. Isaac Goldschmidt also found paydirt multiple times, running for a pair of touchdowns as the Lancers racked up 438 yards on the ground over just 29 carries. La Salle eyes its third 3-0 start in the last four years next week when it visits Kettering Fairmont.

No matter who was throwing the ball for West Clermont Friday night, Hayden Jones was a popular target as he hauled in four catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns, one each from Bryson Earley and Michael Corcoran. West Clermont's offense was steered by Zach Moats, who ran for 152 yards on 20 attempts. Trailing by 18 in the fourth quarter, Little Miami's comeback was fueled by Grant Maupin's pair of touchdown passes to Brayden Bischoff, who had 79 yards on a game-high six catches.

This week was Anderson’s turn to play blowout winner, something the Raptors achieved in a 42-0 shutout. Anderson led 28-0 at the half, but took the foot off the gas, scoring just once each in the final two quarters. Anderson quarterback Griffin Scalf was 22-30 for a whopping 466 yards and four touchdowns. Scalf’s big target was Santos Alvarez who had 154 yards and two scores on four catches. Anderson continues on the road at Lebanon while Loveland seeks its first win of the season at Milford.

With a combined 81 points and 1,064 offensive yards, Milford and Lebanon left everything out on the field in their Eastern Cincinnati Conference openers. The lead changed four times in the second half, but Milford had the one that counted when Austin Hardin found Cam Livingston for a 16-yard score with just 51 seconds left in regulation. The Eagles were outgained 648-416 offensively, but returner Jacob Smith made up any differences. Smith had a pair of return touchdowns in the first half. Smith first gave Milford a 14-7 lead on an 81-yard punt return before tying the game 21-21 in the second quarter on an 89-yard kickoff return. Milford got the ball back after that return and scored on a Hardin to Landen Wiseby pass with eight seconds left in the half. Lebanon’s Braden Kay made up all the scoring in the game’s third quarter, giving the Warriors a 33-28 lead entering the final quarter. Milford quickly retook the lead again in the fourth quarter, but Lebanon followed with a scoring drive and a 39-35 lead with 6:18 remaining. Lebanon left just enough time for the Eagles to go 84 yards in nine plays to earn the win. Lebanon running back Braden Kay had 289 yards on 29 rushes with three touchdowns in the loss. Warriors quarterback Brayden Everitt also had two scores and 118 yards on the ground while throwing 11-18 for 195 yards and a touchdown. Milford returner Smith had four combined punt and kick returns for 232 yards while also snagging an interception on defense. Hardin went 15-24 for Milford, getting four touchdowns on 268 yards and an interception.

Kings has now won 17 consecutive regular-season contests after cruising past Turpin Friday night. The Knights have outscored their first two opponents, 76-3, and will visit Walnut Hills next week. Per usual, Kings’ quarterback Will Kocher had a big night, throwing for 228 yards and three touchdowns, going to Michael Mussari, Jake Cameron and Jay Holubetz. Mussari led the Kings’ receiving corps with four catches for 97 yards and Jake Cameron added 71 yards on a pair of catches. Kocher was the game’s leading rusher, too, running six times for 76 yards, including a 69-yard first-quarter touchdown run to get the scoring starting. Holubetz turned in 92 scrimmage yards on just eight touches, finding the endzone twice on the ground. The Knights’ defense allowed just 132 total yards.

Winton Woods had no trouble as it opened ECC play Friday night, quickly dispatching Walnut Hills and cruising to a lopsided shutout and a 2-0 start to the year. The defending Division II state champions averaged 7.6 yards per carry on the ground with four different Warriors finding the endzone. James Minor III and Trey Cornist combined for 153 yards on 15 attempts and three touchdowns, while K.C. Spears and Seaonta Stewart Jr. reached paydirt, as well. Spears was also on the receiving end of a 66-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Van George, who was 6-of-9 for 125 yards. Winton Woods’ secondary is a key strength for the Warriors and it showed Friday as UC commit Cameron Calhoun had a 100-yard pick-six. The Warriors permitted just 142 total yards. Winton Woods now owns an 11-game winning streak dating back to last season, winning 10 by double digits.

The Mustangs got a big night from quarterback Omar Beckley Jr., who ran for a touchdown and fired two deep first-quarter touchdowns to junior receiver Rahson Hutchinson. Kendall Luckett continued to make plays for Deer Park with an 83-yard kickoff return touchdown.

Dorsten connected in the endzone with Tim Stewart and Talon Vianello and the Mariemont defense surrendered just 189 yards of offense, 71 of which came on Sonny Ward's shutout-snapping 71-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter.

Talawanda’s lone score came from a Cale Leitch to Hayden Marcum pass with just 1:13 left in regulation. Landen Schaefer led the way for Reading, rushing 19 times for 91 yards and a score.

East Central cruised for a second-straight week behind standout quarterback Cole Burton, who threw for five touchdowns, three of which went to Ryan Brotherton. The Trojans also got receiving scores from Eli Aston and Jace Dorsey, along with an 80-yard kickoff return touchdown in the first quarter from Josh Ringer. The Trojans' defense forced two turnovers and allowed just 234 total yards. The Wildcats' lone score came on quarterback Luke Rogers' 68-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Rogers finished with 114 yards on 15 attempts and Cohen Hering had 75 yards on 23 totes.

The Clermont Northeastern Rockets picked up another dominating win, riding big defensive and offensive plays to top Miami Valley Christian Academy. For the second week, Mitch Braden had his name called as he opened the scoring with a 55-yard pass from quarterback Josh Groeber. Groeber also completed a scoring pass to Jake Mott who later found the endzone on a 96 yard run. Mott had five carries for 130 yards on the ground. Through the air, Groeber was just 4-8, but had 115 yards and the two touchdowns. C.J. Boothby and Grant Brown each had interceptions for the Rockets on defense. Andrew McIntosh and C.J. Boothby each had eight tackles to lead Clermont Northeastern. The Rockets led 35-6, allowing a final score in the game’s final moments.

Batavia was led by junior quarterback Jess Roller, who ran for a pair of touchdowns.

In a shootout featuring nearly 900 total combined yards of offense, Greenview delivered the game-winner with 22 seconds left in regulation on Cole DeHaven’s one-yard touchdown run. Waynesville battled back from a 17-point second-half deficit to take a 35-31 lead. The Spartans were led by quarterback Blaise Sizer, who finished 22-of-29 for 324 yards and three touchdowns, adding 28 yards and a score on the ground. Connor Berrey posted five catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns and Joe Stone had five receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown. Stone also threw for a score. Garrett Lundy was Waynesville’s leading rusher (34 yards) and tackler with 11.5.

Dixie Heights made a good run late, but Cooper’s early 21-0 lead was enough for the Jaguars to stay in front for the entire game. A third quarter touchdown run by Caleb Hinkle cut Cooper’s lead to 34-29, but that was as close as Dixie Heights got. Jaguars Cam O’Hara and Eli White stuffed that stats on offense. A defensive slugfest finally featured some scoring in the second half as Ben Teipe’s eight-yard touchdown run and Jackson Smith’s six-yard touchdown pass to Max Montgomery paved the way for Walton-Verona’s first 2-0 start since 2018. Teipe finished was one of three Bearcats to run for over 40 yards, joining Smith (11 carries, 43 yards) and Chris Harward (13 carries, 74 yards). Despite losing the time of possession battle by over 16 minutes, Walton-Verona’s defense held Holy Cross to just 145 total yards, registering four takeaways and three sacks. Walton-Verona will stay on the road next week, visiting Grant County while Holy Cross will visit Scott.
