The official Mascot of the Kappa Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi is the Rooster. Our first, and main mascot was found when our chapter went to our first Convention and realized we were supposed to have a mascot.

Although unintentional in its inception, this occurrence soon became an unofficial tradition of Kappa Men, as Kappas have always strove to be noble and productive members of the community. The cane, being the symbol of a Gentleman who exhibits such characteristics, was then proudly adorned by members of the Fraternity.

Documented procedures of greeting Kappas have been established in other Fraternity publications. There is need to re-emphasize their appropriateness. The acceptable greeting is Brother (followed by name last). Communication is something that must be done at all levels of the Fraternity.

The Yo sign, a three-finger hand symbol, formed to create the shape of a diamond, is a sign used by both under- graduates and alumni to signify a brother in another manner other than the official recognition symbol of Kappa Alpha Psi.
