The HLFM is unique in that it is producer-only—customers are able to buy directly from the farmer who grew the produce. This Market is where the farmers are—the most farmers in any farmers market in the Delmarva!

At 10 am, Chef Ryan Cunningham from SoDel Concepts will demo Farmers Market Panzanella with hot sauce vinaigrette and smoked blue cheese using a number of fresh ingredients from the Market.Ryan started with SoDel Concepts as an Executive Chef in 2019, and in 2023 he was promoted to Corporate Chef. He currently oversees Fish On in Lewes, Lupo Italian Kitchen in Rehoboth Beach, and Northeast Seafood Kitchen in Ocean View.
Please note that dogs and other pets (except for service animals) are not permitted inside the Market. This is to ensure the safety of customers, vendors, and volunteers. Customers may still walk their dogs around the other paths and parts of George H.P. Smith Park but may not bring them inside the Market area.
Customers should not miss Children’s Storytime at the Market at 10 am under the yellow tent! Volunteers read books about farming, gardening, and healthy eating. The Market accepts SNAP, WIC, and SFMNP benefits, and continues to match SNAP up to $20 per market, per customer. Please go to the SNAP tent to process SNAP/EBT.
The HLFM continues its Food Pantry Purchase Program. HLFM customers who want to help feed the local community may purchase local produce, meats, milk, and other food from growers at the Market to donate to this program every Saturday. At the end of the Market, the produce and other foods are gathered and given to food pantries including Epworth and Casa San Francisco. The HLFM thanks its customers for their generosity.
Parking is limited, so customers should walk or bike to the Market if they are able. The circle in front of the Fred Thomas Building at the foot of Dupont will be open for accessible drop-off and pick-up, with some spots available for accessible parking only. With the addition of new sidewalks to George H.P. Smith Park, one of the best places customers can park is at the main parking lot at the Lewes Elementary School (where the Market moves if it rains) at 820 Savannah Road. The HLFM asks customers to please drive carefully when parking for the Market and watch for children, walkers, and bikers around the Park.
The HLFM Wednesday Market at Crooked Hammock Brewery is open from 8 to 11:30 am. New Wednesday Market vendors include Dream Catcher Homestead from Laurel, DE and Mayhems Confections from Dagsboro, DE. Old World Breads and the Point Coffee House and Bakery are now at the Wednesday Market as well, joining the returning Bennett Orchards, Cosmic Dog Farm, Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms, Dittmar Family Farms, Kalmar Farm, and Stag Run Farm.
